General
LookUpVOD is a web app (PWA) that lets you check which streaming platforms carry a given movie or TV show — in your country. Search for a title, see where you can watch it, build your own lists, and discover new titles tailored to your taste.
Yes — LookUpVOD is currently in beta and completely free. Users who register during this phase will receive a special discount if we ever move to a paid model. We'll announce the details well in advance.
LookUpVOD shows availability across all major VOD platforms in your country — including Netflix, Disney+, Max, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and many more. Availability data comes from TMDB and may vary by region.
We support 16 European countries, including Poland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and others. You can select your region manually or let the app detect it automatically.
Account & Data
You log in with your Google account — click “Sign in” and choose your account. No password needed. Your login session is stored securely, so you won’t need to sign in on every visit.
Yes. LookUpVOD is GDPR-compliant. We only store data necessary for the app to function (email, watchlists, settings). Data is encrypted and never sold or shared with advertisers. Details in our Privacy Policy.
We don’t use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We use an anonymous analytics tool (Vercel Web Analytics) that works without cookies and does not identify users — it only collects aggregated visit statistics. For the app to work we use only essential cookies: login session and language/theme preferences. Details in our Privacy Policy.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your account is deactivated immediately and all your data is permanently deleted within 24 hours. You can also email contact@lookupvod.com.
Features
The AI Assistant generates movie and TV show descriptions, suggests similar titles, and helps you discover new content based on your preferences. It runs on Anthropic's Claude Haiku model. Responses are AI-generated and may occasionally contain inaccuracies.
Matcher is a discovery mode where you rate movies and shows by swiping (similar to dating apps). Based on your ratings, the app learns your preferences and suggests more titles. It's a fast way to build your 'Want to watch' list.
Yes. LookUpVOD lets you mark watched seasons and episodes, track upcoming season premieres for shows on your list, and get notified about new episodes.
Movie plans are shared lists and watch sessions for friends or family. You can create a plan, invite others, and decide together what to watch — with voting and shared lists.
Technical
A PWA (Progressive Web App) is a web app you can install directly from your browser — no App Store or Google Play download required. It behaves like a native app: it has a home screen icon, offline support, and fast loading. Installation is optional — you can also use LookUpVOD straight from the browser.
LookUpVOD works on all modern devices: smartphones (iOS, Android), tablets, and desktop computers. Supported browsers are Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge (last two versions of each).
Title information, posters, cast, and descriptions come from TMDB (The Movie Database) — one of the world's largest movie databases. VOD availability data is updated regularly but may lag slightly behind what's currently on the streaming platforms.
