Meanwhile, Zhao Yilin (Huang Bo), a cynical youth, questions his father's legacy. Flashbacks reveal the hardship faced by Wang and his team when they arrived in barren Daqing, working five days straight to help China shed its "oil-poor" label. Wang’s iconic moment—jumping into cement despite an injury—becomes legendary.
