The main characters of the series are step-siblings Vadim and Angela. Years ago, Vadim’s mother and Angela’s father left their families and started living together. Recently, they sold their summer house in an elite Moscow suburb and moved to New Zealand, leaving their central Moscow apartment to Vadim and Angela. Angela returns from Germany, where she lived in a civil partnership, to meet Vadim at the notary’s office. They agree to sell the apartment, split the money, and part ways — but legal issues prevent the sale. Forced to live together, their differences quickly surface: Vadim is tidy and methodical; Angela is impulsive and chaotic.
